about me

My name is Jane. I sleep, I eat, I draw, I play sports, I solve Rubik's Cubes, I make music, I drink boba, I kill time, and I do nerdy things. I was born in 2004 in a place far, far away (not really).

Drawing On My iPad

I draw, digitally and with pencil and paper. My drawing has been on and off. Sometimes I get really into it, while other times I go weeks and weeks of not drawing, although doodling is my go-to thing when I'm bored in class.

I am absolutely horrible at drawing realistic people and can only draw stick figures. My favorite stuff (for lack of a better word) to draw are logos and cartoons.

I can solve a Rubik's Cube in about 20 seconds as of 2016. I started "cubing" in February of 2015 and have been constantly doing it since.

My cousin taught me to solve a 3x3 around Chinese New Year. We were at her house to celebrate the holiday. There was a cube on her dining table which my Dad and I asked her to solve. She solved it in 1 min and 40 seconds. After that, I kept asking her to teach me how to solve it, and she did. By the end of the night, I knew how to solve the first two layers and I learned the last one off of YouTube.

Some of My Cubes

A List of Cubes I Have Solved and My Personal Best (PB) Time:

I've been playing basketball since kindergarten. I played recreational until fourth grade, where I played a season of select. In fifth grade I played recreational again and in sixth I played a season of AAU. I also used to play pickup games or knock out during every recess in elementary school.

I don't watch basketball or any other sport that much, although my favorite NBA team is the San Antonio Spurs (even though I live in the Bay Area).

ping pong

I play ping pong for fun every once in a while (I don't have a ping pong table). I recieved lessons in a camp over the summer between fourth and fifth grade, and in sixth grade I played in the after school program.

Music has played a pretty big part in my life. I listen to it everyday, whether it's from my iPad, Mom playing piano, or my little brother banging on his drums. Everyday when I do homework, draw, play mobile games, or play with my brother, I have music blasting through a speaker or my headphones.

I started playing piano in first grade, stopped lessons in fourth grade and have been causally playing every once in a while since then. A few notable pieces that I've learned to play are the Super Mario Brothers Theme Song, Pink Panther Theme Song, and Fur Elise.

I played violin for one year in school (fifth grade), and particapted in the middle school orchestra in sixth grade. I guess I don't really have much to say about violin.

I play a few mobile games very frequently. These mobile games include Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. I've played Clash of Clans since 2014 and Clash Royale since March 2, 2016, the day it went global. I play both games daily and with my family and friends.
